IAB get a new website…

…shame it can’t do the basics! For those not in the know the IAB are a UK-based trade association for the internet marketing industry. They’ve just re-launched their website with a new look and feel, which is not too shabby and also offers a mobile version.

The problems come very early on though, as the site doesn’t even validate as HTML or xHTML as there’s no DOCTYPE element! I am no expert in these things, but come on! That’s such a school boy error the people who built the site should be dragged into the street, shot, reanimated, shot again and then cut up into little pieces and deposited in a river. Incidentally their site only just validates. Apparently they are experienced, expert and innovative problem-solvers. I could think of a few more words to describe them.

It’s a sad day for the web when a trade association for the internet can’t even get the basics of their own site right.
