Link love - accessibility

by Rob Mason ~ July 16th, 2007 Filed under: Accessibility, Useful stuff.

Thought I’d spread the love around and share some great sites that are dedicated to accessibility. The main criteria for me is a dedication to the cause and well written content that keep me coming back for more. So without further ado, here’s my “Link love” for accessibility sites:

Accessibility sites

  • Accessites - “We want to showcase and provide awards-recognition for certain websites? and the developers and designers who make them? which shatter the misconception that accessible web sites are boring and basic”?. Couldn’t have put it better myself!
  • Accessify - great site for web accessibility tools and resources. Run by the legendary Ian Lloyd who brings accessibility to Nationwide Building Society
  • Accessify Forum - a key accessibility forum where you can ask questions and get sensible, professional answers on anything relating to accessibility.
  • The RNIB’s Web Access Centre Blog - is a fantastic resource written by dedicated people. Interviews, articles, tools and much more.

Articles

  • The Benefit of Accessible Design - great article from College Misericordia in the US about how accessibility benefits able body users as much as disabled users.
